With passion and determination, Gaston Charbonneau, a market gardener and florist from father to son, founded Charbonneau Floral Ltd. in 1962, in the Sainte-Dorothée neighborhood of Laval. Through his soil bagging and horticultural accessories business, as well as the production of flower and vegetable plants in boxes, he became a pioneer in this industry in Quebec. His mission was to make his products accessible throughout Quebec's cities and villages, and even to the Maritimes.
The company quickly expanded, and its products were found on the shelves of more than 10,000 retail locations in Quebec, Ontario, and the Maritimes. In addition to being a television columnist, Gaston developed a brand-new product that made him popular across Canada thanks to his famous slogan: "Parole de Charbonneau, c’est Vitagrow qu’il vous faut."
Driven by the desire to offer quality products at affordable prices to gardening and landscaping enthusiasts, Alain and Sylvain Charbonneau, Gaston's sons, took over the business in 1989. Finally, in 2019, Alain's children, Jennifer and Antoine, took over the company's management, bringing renewed energy with their innovative ideas.
In addition to Floral's flagship products, new ranges have been added to meet the growing demand of customers now seeking solutions tailored to the winter season. Rich in a tradition founded on passion, expertise, and innovation, the family business continues to evolve with an ambitious vision: to ensure the company's sustainability and future growth.
